Happy Birthday Nina – You’re Going to Japan! 🇯🇵

As a reward for surviving another year of my excellent parenting, you’ve officially won a trip to Japan.

Not today. Not tomorrow. But in September, when the countdown finally reaches zero and we board a plane bound for Tokyo.

Until then, you’ll have plenty of time to research anime stores, rank every possible sushi restaurant, identify twenty-seven “must visit” art galleries, and add approximately 400 items to your shopping wish list.

When September arrives, there will be neon lights, temples, tiny side streets, amazing food, arcades, beautiful art, strange vending machines, and undoubtedly a few moments where I have to remind you that we do, in fact, have a luggage weight limit.

Most importantly, we’ll get to spend time together exploring one of the most fascinating places in the world and making memories we’ll laugh about for years.
